BEACHES

Salt Creek Beach

Salt Creek beach is a really popular beach for surfers and beach goers alike. Salt Creek has a ton of amenities, beautiful scenery, and great waves. Keep in mind - there is a large hill you have to walk down to get to the beach - which mean’s walking back up it!

• Young’s Beach Shack - serving delicious food daily until sunset

• Restroom facilities with outdoor showers
• Large hilly grass area - great for picnics!
• Large parking lot - $1/hour parking

Doheny State beach

Doheny State Beach, nicknamed DoHo locally, is often the beach people think about when they think of Dana Point. It is one of California’s most popular state beaches - over 2,000,000 people go to it every year! Doheny was also California’s first state beach. With endless amenities, a day at Doheny is the perfect way to spend a day at the beach.

• Waves for beginners - a small wave with a long ride
• DoHo Cafe at Doheny Beach - offering food and beer/wine from 10 am - 7 pm daily
• Dogs are allowed in the picnic and day-use areas
• Barbeques
• Volleyball courts
• Campgrounds
• Large parking lot - $15 all day non-summer, $20 all day summer, $14 for seniors

Strands Beach

Dana Strands Beach, or more commonly known as Strands, is a beach just south of Salt Creek. Strands is a bit of a hidden gem in Dana Point. It’s less busy than Salt Creek, while still having the beautiful scenery and great waves. There are a lot of steps to get down to Strands, however the city installed a powered funicular system that can take you down to the beach and back up without having to take on all of those steps.

Located in Capo Beach, Pines Park has amazing ocean views and plenty of amenities.

Lantern Bay Park

Perched above the Dana Point Harbor, Lantern Bay Park offers endless ocean views and a large relatively flat grassy area for entertainment.

Creekside Park
